Sung to the tune of children's song called Bingo -
"…had a dog and Bingo was his name, B-I-N-G-O …"

Written by: Arnold

We met a gal in Chi-n-a,
               And Linda was her name-a.
                     L-I-N-D-A!
                     L-I-N-D-A!
                     L-I-N-D-A!
               And Linda was her name-a!

She checked our bags and counted heads,
And took good care of Herbert.
                     L-I-N-D-A!
                     L-I-N-D-A!
                      L-I-N-D-A!
And took good care of Herbert!

            She showed us Tien-an-man Square,
                The Great Wall and pagodas.
                     Yes that's what she did!
                     Yes that's what she did!
                     Yes that's what she did!
                 The Great Wall and pagodas!

Her hometown Xian was a hit,
With a lot of baked-clay soldiers.
                     That's what she showed us,
                     That's what she showed us,
                     That's what she showed us,
With a lot of baked-clay soldiers!

She took us to the roof of earth,
And made us eat Yak butter.
That's what she did to us!
That's what she did to us!
That's what she did to us!
Drink Yak tea, eat Yak butter.

She sailed us down the Chang Jiang,
                Through narrow and wide gorges.
                     Up and down we went,
                     Down and up we went,
                     Up and down we went,
                Through 3,4,5,6 gorges!

She taught us how to say ni-how,
Count 10 with just 5 fingers.
Now we know how to count,
Now we know how to count,
Now we know how to count,
To count 10 with just 5 fingers!

She leaves us stranded in Hong Kong,
                We are without a mother.
                     Now we lost our mom,
                     Now we lost our mom,
                     Now we lost our mom,
                We are without a mother!

Linda we thank you for all your care and efforts. When we return home and recall all the beautiful experiences in the Peoples Republic of China, your name will always be associated in our minds, as well as film and video tape, with the beautiful sights, sounds, and friendly people of your great nation.

With few words we can say: we are greatly impressed and wish the people of China a great and peaceful future.

Linda, we wish you and your family, happiness, health, wealth, and your daughter a great future! (and the best husband)
